Zoning Lubricant Die Application for Improving Formability of Box-Shaped Deep Drawn Parts

The ‘formability’ of sheet metal is a major keyword referring to process design in the forming industry. Higher formability could reflect lower production costs and time. Many studies have been carried out improve various ways, by using finite element method experimental approaches. In present research, new zoning lubricant technique proposed. stainless steel SUS304 square deep drawn box used as an investigative model. Based on material flow analysis, we found that die application reduce difference velocity between wall corner zones. This characteristic resulted decreased nonconcurrent plastic deformation during drawing process, well stretching cup delaying fracture. was strictly concerned with achieving functionality related friction coefficient, area zoning, blank-holder pressure. A smaller coefficient positioned zone larger are recommended. It revealed that, appropriate application, be increased terms height approximately 7 mm or 10%.
